YA YA PARTY !  I am a big Sandra Bullock/YA YA fan so for my birthday last year I decided to throw my own "YA-YA Sisters" birthday party. I invited several of my girlfriends and met them at the door with animal print pill box hats and plastic bead necklaces I purchased at a dollar store. Everyone got to pick the animal print they wanted had to wear them. They also got to draw a wine glass charm for their glass. I decorated with balloons, candles, and colored glass rocks on the tables and we ate finger foods like sandwhiches, chips, cheese and crakers, cake and drinks. I filled a few baskets with ribbons, miniture plastic animals, beads, and whatever else that was silly that I could find, along with hot glue guns to glue the stuff to their hats. I had already glued a few items on mine to give them a few ideas(things like miniature birdhouses, netting, silk flowers, etc). I gave everyone two slips of paper and had them write silly names on them, then had each one draw the names from a hat. We then crowned everyone with their own "YA YA" name. Mine was Empress Tiger Lily. We never laughed so hard as we did at some of the names everyone came up with! Some which could not be mentioned in public! A friend who had a previous engagement stopped by and did her "Granny Act" then we sent her(along with my friends and I, hats and all) to crash the poker party the husbands were at in order to be out of the house. They didn't know who the "Granny" was or why she was there, as we were hiding in the living room, rolling on the floor laughing. I'm also the Empress of Karaoke so returning to my house we broke out the karaoke music and sang for hours and then told about our past embarrassing party stories. The night was a success and I'm already planning this year's party to do it again, and will be adding boas and a scavenger hunt to the fun! AND! The husbands thought it was great because they got to play poker as a trade off to let the "YA YA'S" have a girlfriend party! This party can be done any time of the year and the girlfriend theme ideas are endless!
