We had a what do you want to be when you grow up party. We had different stations for each group of occupations. We had a grocery store with fruits, vegetables, meats and all kinds
of empty sealed up boxes to shop for. We had shopping carts and baskets to shop with. You could be a cashier, produce manager, store manager or a bagger.
We had a restaurant with several small kitchens so that you could be a chef, wait staff or cashier. There were several small tables for customers to sit at. We had aprons, chef hats and order tablets. We had a hospital set up with baby dolls, bandages, bandaids. They had little Dr coats and badges. We had several little Dr's kits for them to use. We had a little school set up so that some could be students and some could be teachers. We had a florist set up with little buckets of fake flowers and then little pots with styrofoam so that they could make their own arrangements. Then of course we had a fire station/police station. They put out fake fires and rescued the people inside. They had police hats and badges and I made little ticket books for them to write tickets. The kids had so much fun. We were going to have a lot of children over and it worked out because they all had enough room to really enjoy themselves. The cake was designed with several children dressed in different career wear- Police, Chef, Business man, Doctor and a teacher. All of this started with an ambulance and EMT visiting the party to explain what his job is and what he had to do to get to do this job. The kids got to visit the ambulance and see what his job is. This is by far the best party we have had yet. The kids are still talking about it. For favors we gave school book bags with something from each station. measuring cups, police and fire badges, fire station coloring book and 911 safety coloring book, Name badges with each Dr. name on it. Each child got to make their own flower arrangement and take that with them.
