Hi! My daughter, Yungzo, just turned eight. For her party, she wanted a cat theme. Of course, I had to order from a catalog to get a complete matching set. INVITATION: When it arrived, I
made the invitations with Yungzo. They had cats all over them. I wrote in the date, time, place, RSVP, and other details on the front. At the top, I wrote You are invited to Yungzo's Cat
Bash!" DECORATIONS: The cats were pink and purple so the streamers that the set came with were pink and purple. We put those up together all around the house. It only came with one
big cat balloon so we had to go out and buy more. We bought pink and purple balloons and set them up in the dining room and living room. When it was almost party time we drew a big cat on a
big sheet of paper and hung it up. We colored it pink and purple. We placed ribbons with pins in a small box near the drawing so we could use it later for pin-the-tail-on-the-cat. We put a
cat tablecloth on the table and set out the ct plates cups napkins and forks. Finally we hung up the pink and purple cat pinata.
ACTIVITIES: When the guests arrived we had them all sign a stuffed cat or The Autograph Cat. Then we had them all draw pictures of cats. Next we all went outside to pet our own cat Zi. Finally we all made cat masks and chased each other around playing tag with them. GAMES: We played pin-the-tail-on-the-cat and the children had fun doing that. Next we hit the pinata full of pink and purple wrapped candy and picked it all up. Then we played musical cat chairs which was where we had a different breed picture taped onto each chair. The children would walk around the chairs when the music played and when the music stopped they would all sit in the chair closest to them. Then I would pull out a picture that matched one of the cats on the chairs and the child siting in that chair would win a prize. I recorded who won so that each child won at least once. It all worked out well. Finally we had a cat meow contest to see who could make the most realistic cat meow. The winner got a prize. COSTUMES: Every guest wore something pink and/or purple and if they had cat clothing they wore that. Almost every child seemed to have cat clothing. PARTY SNACKS: For snacks we had fish sticks milk and cheese balls because cats like fish milk and cheese. CAKE: For a cake we had a pink and purple frosted cake with a big cat iced on the top. It was vanilla cake underneath. FAVORS: The cat set came with favors already so we didn't have to worry about that. Each bag was purple with a cat on the front and a fuzzy pink handle. Each had some pink and purple wrapped candy inside a plush cat a at notebook a cat bookmark and a headband of fuzzy pink and purple cat ears. Yungzo and her friends had a great time! I hope this idea helps! Bye! -Ki"
