For my son's 11th birthday, we had a Digital Car Rally. I took a picture of him with the party details on a dry erase board and we printed copies and delivered them to all his friends.
I arranged to have 4 drivers and divided the kids up by interests; some were school friends, some were soccer, neighborhood and church. When the kids arrived we had snacks and Guitar Hero available until everyone was there. Then the teams were given a list of words. Examples: high, low, spicy, sweet, round, blue, etc. Very generic words. The teams were then sent out with drivers and digital cameras to interpret their list of words through pictures. The rules: All members of the team had to be in the picture. You couldn't take a picture of the same thing to describe more than one word. No taking them all in the same location. You have to be back within the time frame or you lose points. Bonus points for first back and creativity. As the teams arrived back, snacks and Guitar Hero kept them busy. When all the teams were back we loaded the pictures onto the TV and viewed them. Score points however you want! We had one of the kids who came late be the judge. The winning team got picture frames of cars with the windshield being for the picture (99 Cent Store). The cake was a triple layer half sheet that I used grey frosting on. Then we took a 5 x 7 picture of the birthday boy blowing out candles on a birthday pie from the previous day and laid it in the bottom left corner. Using cookies, candy, and edible paint pens, I decorated the cake to look like the back of my digital camera with the picture being the preview screen. For thank you cards we had the birthday boy by dry erase board again and burned ALL the pictures from the teams to cd's for his friends.
