For my sister's 11th birthday party, we decided to do a movie theater theme. The idea was to make it seem like the girls were in a movie theater. First, we sent out invatations with fake money
in them (from a board game, like Monopoly or Life)so that the girls could buy their movie ticket and concessions. We rented a projector and a big screen to watch the movie on. To decorate the
house we went to the video store and bought cheap movie posters and taped them up on the wall to look like upcoming movies. If you wanted to, you could rent those gold stands with red velvet
ropes like they have at theaters to decorate also.We bought popcorn tubs and softdrink cups at Gordon Food Service (a food service store that sells stuff you see at resturants and fast food
places). My mom, brother, and myself dressed up as employees with white blouses, black pants, and paper bow ties. When the girls walked in they bought their tickets at a stand run by me. It
was just a card table with a tablecloth draped over it.We made tickets on the computer that said "Claudia's Star Movie Theater". My brother was standing close by to collect the
tickets and admit them into the "theater". The concession stand was in our kitchen. We bought a lot of big jumbo candy bars, made a TON of popcorn, had yummy nachos displayed, and
lots of drink choices. My mom and I ran the stand and the girls had a lot of fun buying the food with their money. When everyone arrived we started the movie. My sister chose to show
"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", but you can choose any movie you want to , just make sure it's ok for every guest to see. The projector and screen made it seem like they
were in a real movie theater. We also tried to block out as much light as posible. When the movie was over, we had cake and opened presents. The party was a big hit and evryone loved it. It
was also a lot of fun to put together.
