Movie Theater Party 8yr

July 2008

Corina in Bakersfield, Ca

For my little sisters 8th birthday we had a movie theater party. I was her party planner so that was really fun! First of all the invitations, they were so cute! We cut out big tickets with red and yellow construction paper from the dollar store and on the front it said admit one and the back it said for.....time......place.....ECT.and ps don't forget to bring your ticket, so you had to bring your invite to get in. The center of the party was a concession stand. We used our counter and bought a bunch of snacks like m n ms, kit oats, reeses, and licorice, popcorn, and pickles.we also had a menu that said nachos hot dogs pickles popcorn and candy. By each of those we put how many tickets it cost. Right when everyone came we gave them 20tickets that you can get at a party store or smart and final.we also bought those cute little bowls that you get at the fair when they give you a corn dog or something. Everyone had a lot of fun buying things and loved the food. It only cost about $50 for all the food. For cups and stuff we just went to party city and got some cute movie plates and napkins and cups. For decorations we also bought at party city we bought streamer and garland and red, gold, white, andblack balloons. My sisters favorite decoration was the red floor runner that we put outside so people thought they were walking to a movie premiere! For some really inexpensive but fun games this is what we did:I bought more construction paper and made a giant popcorn bucket with red stripes and I also bought yellow paper and made giant popcorn pieces and we played pin the popcorn in the bucket andwith all our games if you won you got a free item from the concession stand. Another game we played was how well do you know the star(my sister) and I just made a few questions about her with multiple choice which was fun to see what everyone put! The third game was water on the brain that we got the idea from my uncles 4th of July party. You cut a hole in two cups at the bottom and you have two teams and four buckets. Whichever team can fill their bucket at the other end first by carrying the water on top of their head wins.so you have 2 buckets filledat the starting line and2 buckets that need to be filled at the finish. We had a piniata that was a movie clapboard. And we had a silly string war where you try to spray your partner and whoever sprays their partner the most wins. We gave all the kids a box of candy that you get at movie thaters as another goody to take home. The party started at 2:00 and ended at 6:00. At about 4:30 we watched a really good movie called spiderwick chronicles. This party was really fun and only $120!
