My daughter was turning 5 years old and it would be the last Birthday party with her friends at Preschool, so I wanted to do something special. A movie was about to come out that my daughter
wanted to see and had been asking if she could take several friends with us.
I decided to have her party at the movie theater. I called and got a group rate, that was no more expensive than doing it somewhere like Skate places or elsewhere. For invitations, we made a movie admission ticket for each child with the date, time of movie, the name of the movie and that it was for her Birthday Party. The goody bags were popcorn bags filled with snack size popcorn (unpopped), candy that you would eat at the movies. We bought 2 tubs of popcorn and filled up the goody bags and passed them out. We asked for a corner near the games to do cake. For the cake, I made a copy of the cover of the movie that she watched and took it to Walmart and they copied it onto edible paper and placed it on top of a plain cake. My daughter and her friends loved it. It also was nice because they were calm and quiet and not running around trying to fill time with games that some will play and some will not. Even the parents seemed to enjoy it, some left the kids and went and did errands.
