Willy Wonka backyard drive in... For my daughter's 9th birthday we decided to have a chocolate theme. After school we are going to take a few of her closest friends to a chocolate making place and have the party there, THEN we are going to invite whomever she wishes to a special movie in our backyard. Either we will hire a company that brings the big screen etc, or I might decided to save some money and rent a screen and a lcd projecter. Of course, the movie will be Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and everything will continue with the theme. The invites will be invitations with wonka bars included.  The information will be straight out of the movie. We decided to hide a golden ticket inside one of the bars, but to mix them up so that even we will not know who has the golden ticket. The winner will get some sort of special chocolate present. The party will be in the backyard so everyone will be instructed to bring their blankets and/or beach chairs. The few kids that were invited to the chocolate party before will recieve two invitations.  Anyway, we decided to have lots and lots of candy. We are going to have lollypops (large ones from the candy store all over the grounds, then various candy stations throughout the yard. A cotton candy table, popcorn machine and snowcones. We will have a candy table where the kids can can purchase all types of Wonka products like nerd ropes, gobstoppers, chocolate balls, etc. We will make tickets so the kids are allowed to visit each station once.  We don't want them to get too sick. Then we will watch the movie. How awesome to sit in the backyard with all your friends and enjoy this old time favorite movie on a large screen. At the end ,the golden ticket award winner will be presented with a special gift in front of all his/her friends, Chocolate of course. The cake will have beautiful colored candies surronding a picture of my daghter in the willywonks outfit. I am going to put her face in the picture from the videobox. We will alsoe candy dot papers hanging, and have a contest with them.  I just can't wait. pray for no rain.
