For my son's 3rd birthday party I decided to do a movie party in our home.
The invitation had a film reel on it and in each box was a different picture of my son. The invite stated admit children only at 1:00pm sharp. Adults were allowed to come at 3. Adults with children received two free tickets to go to the movies while their child enjoyed theirs. I borrowed a projector from a friends and used the wall with a sheet on it. I bought mini folding chairs from nick.com site for each child to sit on in the livingroom. The child also got to take the chair home as a great favor. The dining room I transformed into a concession stand. There was a nacho cart, hotdog cart, popcorn cart and cotton candy machine. Of course there was movie candy and refreshments! As the children came in they were greeted by my helpers that pretended to be employees and even had hats and name tags. They received play money to purchase items at the concession stand. I had purchased actually carboard kid's movie trays that came with cups and lids. The popcorn and nachos fit perfectly and they could sit in their seats without making a mess. The room was decorated in movie posters that my friend had design with my child's picture in it as a superhero. There were balloons on the ceiling. All in all it was great for all ages! Children who could not sit still to watch the whole movie played with "employees" in another room with toys. Parents loved it since they received free babysitting while their child had a great time.
