This party works for pretty much any age, and is fun for pretty much everybody.
It is also a relatively inexpensive option. Invite a maximum of 10 friends over, tell them the party starts late (8 or 9 at night) at that they will be staying up all night. The pickup time could be after breakfast the next morning. Then rent 5-6 movies, they can be in a certain theme (all starring a favorite movie star, classics, horror movies, musicals, etc). Provide good movie snacks such as chips, candy, soda, and popcorn. Also have cake or cupcakes or something in that genre. When everyone comes over, have them all sit in the living room/room with TV on pillows in pajamas with the snacks and start the movie marathon. Make sure that there is some seperate place available if anyone gets too tired and wants to sleep.
