I had an awesome party that my friends and i all enjoyed. I am in 6th grade and i wanted to do something none of my friends had ever done so i decided to have a murder mystery party.
Invitations- The invitations were yellow like caution tape and said that there had just been a murder and that you
were a police officer or a mystery detective and that u were being summoned to help discover who the murder was. Decorations: We had tons of streamers, all yellow, that blocked off areas in the house we werent allowed to go into such as the laundry room or the den. They were alos hanging from the ceilings too. We had some black and yellow balloons as well. We had a few other decorations as well. The Party: When guests finally began to arrive we went down into my huge basement and played murderer in the dark. This game is very simple and still a top of fun. The game needs small pieces of paper (the number equal to the number of guests you have)and on one of the papers write police officer or detective and on another write murderer. Then fold all the papers in half. Each guest pick up one piece of paper and reads it. The blank pieces just casually walk around in the dark, the murder must wisper in someones ear you're dead and then the detective must try to discover who it was. its a lot of fun! Then once everyone was there we played clue which fit with the theme really well. Then my parents came downstairs and we sat down to open my birthday gifts. When my friend Heather noticed her gift was missing. Then in its place was a clue. This clue lead us on a scavenger hunt at each spot there was a small gift that they put into a brown paper bag. This was their goodybag. It included things like nail polish, lip gloss and candy. We finally found the gift in "the place where monsters hide" or under my bed! Then we opened girfs and had cake. As the most important part of the party we had the search for the murderer. My parents made up a booklet of witnesses and clues. We had to try to solve who the murderer was. To do this we split into two teams and the team that won was promised diamonds. We had many clues. My dad played the sheriff who handed out booklets with some information and clues. When a team thought they knew the answer they went to him. My sister played the deputy. The teams could ask the sheriff or deputy to describe the crime scene ect. The teams could also go to the dinner and speak to Gloria the dinner owner who had found old lady jenkins (the victim)dead in her back yard. The clues all lead to be my principal and he was the murderer. The reason he had been the murderer was due to the dog old lady jenkins had didnt bark when he came to kill her. He had fed the dog years ago when he was a boy so the dog didnt bark at him. He killed her to steal the diamonds she had in her shed he had seen them when he fed her dog 30 years ago when he was 10 thus proving the murderer had to be about 40 now. There were many clues given and a lot of thinking done between teams it was really difficult but tons of fun! Finally we went downstairs to go to sleep we had lots of candy and sweets as well as chips sodas juice and cake and pizza! we watched the movie Clue and told scarry stories about murders! It was so awesome and i had so much fun! My friends were talking about the party forever!!! It was amaing!Hope this helped you!
