Mary-Kate & Ashley Mystery Survivor Party My 7 year old daughter could not decide between the three ideas so we incorporated all three into one spectacular party. There is a bit of pre party prep work but it was well worth it. For the ivitation we scanned a picture from a DVD sleeve of M.k & A in their detective clothes and changed the text to read: Mary kate & Ashley invite you... we put the details of the party on the bottom and in the magnifying glass put Agent Amanda's 7th birthday mission.  Printed them at Kinkos for about $6.00 in color copies. Upon arrival each guest was given a colored sticker (yellow or orange).  They were not told what they were for but told to remember their color in case the sticker is lost.  I tried to put siblings on opposite teams. We hired a hot dog vendor to come with the cart and big umbrella which was a hit. Our guests thought that was so cool. Since there are no decorations really for this theme I picked up decorations at the $1 store. They were green and pink with butterflies and flowers, my daughter's favorite. After eating, my daughter (this was planned) began pitching a fit that she wanted to do the pinata already. I pretended to calm her down and gave in.  We gathered the children for the pinata. When the pinata was opened, scrap paper and x-mas tree tinsel came out with one big envelope. My daughter read the clue:You thought you would get some candy but it was just a trick whoever knows Amanda best that team she will pick. The kids were so excited. I split the teams by their yellow or orange color - Mary Kate & Ashley teams.  The teams were asked questions about my daughter and whichever team got the most correct has the birthday girl on the team. The teams went their separate ways to each of four stations. 1- Eat all the doughnuts to get your clue. 2 - pop balloons to get the clue. 3 - write a note for the birthday girl to get your clue. 4 - Put your initial on a bracelet for the birthday girl.  At this station the other team kidnapped my daughter so as to spend equal time with the teams. Then she gave each of them a friendship bracelet I bought on ebay.  The last clue said Let's sing happy birthday and have us some cake when we're all done with that your last clue you will take.  After the cake I gave them the code to decifer the clue.  Each clue given was a series of numbers and after the cake the "code" was given. It was just the alphabet set to numbers. Once figured out the clues said, Find the box that says gifts for detectives.  The box was a simple box where the gifts were sitting.  Once opened were the goodie bags which consisted of a burned M.K & A CD a magnifying glass, and some candy.  The CD sleeves were the same as the invitation but we changed the text to say thank you for coming to my 7th birthday party.  Hope you enjoyed the mystery. The party seememd extravagant to the guests but only cost $200 including the vendor. The kids were still talking about the party in school the next week.
