For my daughter's tenth B-day party we did a mystery party. Each guest wore their best detective clothing. She had just been reading Ellen Raskins The Westing Game, so she was into mysteries.
First, the guests sat down and waited for me, the head detective, to read of the crime. I explained that someone had stolen a very important brand new CD case(what all the kids wanted at the
time) and they were still on the loose. I introduced all the suspects and showed drawn pictures of each one. I paired up the kids and each got five different clues. It let them loose to
examine different areas of the house. For example: One group had the finger print of each suspect, and used the clue. The culprit is usually hungry, to find finger prints on the fridge. It
went on for about an hour until one group came up with all the clues and won the CD case. I suggest this party for 10 year old girls and boys.
