My 16th birthday is coming up and I am so excited! I knew I didn't want the traditional 16th birthday with a DJ and everything so we started to think outside of the box and came up with some
great ideas (I put the main aspects of the party in caps, so that they are easy to find).
First of all, I made a guest list of 7 people, so with myself and my parents there will be 10 of us. For my invitations, we bought glass bottles, corks, and ribbon and made a really cute MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE INVITATION, packed them tightly in boxes and sent them out. Everyone has RSVP'd and said they loved the bottle idea! Now, for the party, we will be renting a 12 passenger van to drive to ORLANDO, FL (a 2-3 hour ride for us). In Orlando, we will go see the CIRQUE DE SOLEIL SHOW LA NOUBA". Tickets are expensive (we bought cheapest at like $68 which is why I had to keep my guests to a minimum however we called way in advance so that we could get our pick of seats so that we got the "best of the worst seats"(if that makes sense). After the show we will go to a RENTAL HOUSE (better than buying 3 hotel rooms and not guaranteeing that we will all be on the same floor--many people rent out their houses you can try websites like www.vrbo.com). The house we rented has a POOL (another benefit to the house is that we don't have to worry about "sharing" the pool with other guests) so we will order PIZZAS to eat out by the pool and make "VIRGIN" COCKTAILS. When we wake up in the morning we will walk DOWNTOWN DISNEY to do some shopping and probably go to the Ghiradelli Cafe :) . My parents will buy everyone's meals but we told them to bring their own money for shopping and snacks. Overall this party will cost a little under $2000 which is not bad considering with a tradtional Sweet 16 party you would have a $300-$500 D.J. then renting out a place and catering and decorations well you get the point. I hope my ideas were helpful!"
