This was my son's eighth birthday party theme. It was held at a place called a Toy Library. It was a two big rooms filled with toys and games that can be lent out to members for a certain amount of time.  Invitations: The invitations were shaped like a tiger's face. On the back of the invitation it said all the details of the party.  Decorations: Green streamers were hung in the doorway, low enough to almost touch the kid's heads, but not low enough to be a safety concern.  I made jungle animals on poster board, painted them and hung them around the room. Activities: Upon arrival, children signed a big card shaped like a monkeys head for my son's birthday. Then, each child had to guess how many rubber jungle animals were in the jar. Each child filled out a guess on a slip of paper. Each child who guessed got a few animals as a party favor. For the art activity,we had air dry clay in different colors. We had animal shaped cookie cutters to use. The children also got to customize their white goodie bags with jungle animal shaped sponges dipped in paint. Games: We all sat in a circle and rolled a ball to each other. Each time a child got the ball passed to them, they had to say an animal that began with letters of the alphabet. of course it started with a and went in alphabetical order until the last child got z. We played jungle animal bingo. We also had a game involoving pipe cleaner animals. I made different pipe cleaner animals with googly eyes. I wrapped each one in tissue paper. I made a paper with three clues on it. Each child had to read all three clues, guess what it was and then open it. Each child got to keep their animal as a party favor, but this way it made it a game too.  Party Snacks: Fruit snacks shaped like animals. Fruit in animal shaped bowls. Cake: I made a sheet cake and colored the frosting green. I took chocolate wafers and frosted the top with green icing to look like jungle trees. I took circus peanuts and formed them into jungle animals. (a tiger, a monkey, and a girrafe) since the circus peanuts are orange already I just added stripes (the decorating icing was used for the stripes.) for the tiger. I used black decorating icing to make spots on the girraffe. And also for the eyes. (Molding circus peanuts after a while, is alot like molding clay. The pieces mush into one another like there is glue on it.) The monkey I made then added brown decorating icing all over it to look like fur. The kids loved the animals and everyone wanted to eat the animals, more than they wanted to eat the cake itself!     Favors: Pipe cleaner animals, rubber jungle animals, various little candies, jungle related little toys I ordered from a store.  This was one of my son's favorite parties and everyone else seemed to have a really good time too. *As a side note: as I was doing the games with the kids the parents that stayed formed a fun game of their own. Since it was a toy library there were multiples of each toy. The parents, mine included- made up a sit and spin game on the sit and spins. But since anyone over the age of six or seven is too big to even fit on these things, the parents stood on them. There were four parents including my mom. The object of their game was to see who could spin back and forth the longest, by almost a straddle type stance. I guess fun was had by the adults, too.
