We wanted our son's 11th birthday party to be the best ever. So I did get some ideas off of this web site and came up with a few of my own. The invitations we sent out were printed on
regular white printer paper with army stars around the outside. they read like this: ATTENTION: all recruits are here by ordered to report to the Cornette military base for a top secret
military mission: Gabe's 11th birthday party Location:-----Date:-----Time: 1400 hrs.-1630 hrs. (2-4:30 civilian time) we request that you leave all weapons at the door. gear will be issued
and food rations will be given out.( cake, ice cream, pizza etc.) confirm your orders at then our phone number. When the boys arrived i was standing at the door and asked them for thier name.
they were then given a dog tag reading pvt. and thier last name. i ordered them to report to the issuing dept. my husband who was in the army for 5 years and is still in the reserves had on
his ACU's and was sitting at a table in the middle of our living room. they were given play army helmets, bandanas, canteens, compasses, and play guns.we also had a corner of the dinning room
that had an army tarp over in one corner that inside we put maps on the walls and had various things sitting on a small table the boys got to look at like old army manuals, iraqi money,
passports, and other odds and ends my husband brought back from Iraq. it was like they were being briefed for thier mission. we also painted military helicopters and had a scavenger hunt. we
bought party favors from the party store but also went to our local recruiting station and recieved stickers, water bottles and several other things that went in thier camiflouged bags we
found at the dollar tree. when the boys left they got a certificate of completion. since the boys that were invited were all boy scouts they were talking about the party for weeks. i hope
this helps you all out with your next army party.
