*Carnival Party* For my 7th birthday party, me and my mom threw a 'carnival party'. What we did was...INVITATIONS: All we did was go onto the computer, onto Word, write up your invitations
with all the info and maybe a catchy frase, and add a picture or two from clipart and your done. simple, but acceptable. SET-UP/DECORATIONS: We,(my mom actually), got a big wardrobe box(
about a couple of bucks at a moving store), and painted onto a side of it a big 'ring master' lion with a round whole where his mouth would be. She copied this out of a magazine. The kids
would go inside the box, stick their heads out of the whole, and my mom would take a picture of them. We also used another wardrobe box to make a 'tiket booth' in which the guests would line
up to get there 'tickets' to spend at the carnival stations. Tickets can be bought at dollar stores. We gave the kids name tags and admission braceletts to show they were allowed in.
ACTIVITIES/GAMES: We bought games like the ring toss where you get little rings and you have to get them around the plasctic animal's(or whatever)neck. We had a blow up miny pool and we put
water in that and then we had a game where you can 'fish', using a magnet to get the hook to the fish. We also did bowling, (using water bottles filled with sand) and the games where you have
to get the basketball in the basket. At each of these stations there was a prize box where whether you won or not, you could pick out a brize.SNACKS/FOOD: For food we had food booths,(some of
the parents volunteered to run the booths), whick, using your tickets, you could purchase hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, soda, juice, and pretzels. Then after we had done all that we had cake. My
mom's coussin-in-law is a professional cake maker and so she made a cake for me. She used an upside down icecream cone for the clown's body, and a giant gumball for the head,(secured on
somehow by lots of frosting), and she covered those with frosting so she had a decorated 3-D clown on top of the cake. She used lots of differnt frosting tips to make the hair, facial
parts, etc. We then had,(for the kids who didn't like cake,I'm one of them), an ice cream bar where kids could make their own icecream sundaes using toppings like whipped cream, m&m's,
sprinkles, etc. This all sounds REALLY EXPENSIVE but it is honestly not. I will not lie though, it takes a pretty good amount of planning. ***LAUREN***
