This year my daughter wanted to go to a spa to get made over. WE decided instead to have a spa party at our house.
Invitation: For the invitations, I traced a large nail polish bottle onto hot pink card stock and printed out Ooh-La-La Please join us for Alex's SPA-tacular slumber spa party!" I then cut out the nail polish bottle from the pink cardstock and a black cardstock bottle to put on the back. I then made a nail polish stick and brush out of black cardstock that fit in between the pink and black nail polish bottle and slid in and out like a real nail polish bottle. I put the RSVP information on the brush that could be pulled out. It was super cute and looked like a giant nail polish bottle. I added a few cute jewels and it was done. Decorations: For decorations we used the colors bright pink and purple and had those colors splashed all over with candles all around for a spa effect. We also had fancy glasses and plates to make it look more like a spa. Activities: For the party we decided to have stations that the girls could go to and not get bored. There was a pedicure station a manicure station and a craft station. I had neighbors family members and babysitters helping out and we rotated the girls. When the girls arrived they made flip flops to get ready for their manicures and get comfortable. For the pedicure station we had the foot bath machines ready to go and put bath fizzies in them when the girls put their feet in. We then gave them lotion rubs and painted their nails. For the manicure station it started with the girls getting a wax treatment with a paraffin wax machine I bought at a bath store. They then went on to get their nails painted with designs and all. For the craft station The girls decorated their own backpack bags and made their own bath salts using epsom salts and scented oils and chocolate masks they could put on with cucumber slices for their eyes and take some home in baby food jars. I took each girls picture when they had on their chocolate masks and cucumber slices and used them later for Thank you notes. In the morning after breakfast our final spa activity was making oatmeal masks that helped them start out the morning with clean refreshed faces. SNACKS: While going through the stations I had my husband make smoothies for the girls in fancy glasses so they could be refreshed while they got pampered and my younger daughter walked around with snacks like monster mix and pretzels. After they finished all the stations we went on to have a spa dinner that consisted of different fancy o'dourves like mini quiches and bagel bites. Cake: Using a 13x9 cake I made a copy of the nail polish invitation we sent out complete with bright pink icing and black bruch stick. It was a giant nail polish bottle and it turned out great the girls thought it was so cool. FAVORS: For favors the girls brought home their own backpack bag with their flip flops and facial masks inside. The party was according to my daughter "the best ever!" Thanks to all the great ideas out there that helped!"
