Disney Cars Themed Birthday Bash: INVITATIONS: In Powerpoint I made the invites out of cardstock to save money. I downloaded a cars image that had most of the cars characters on it. In one blank space of it I wrote, Start your engines and race on over to Radiator Springs to help Tanner celebrate his 4th Birthday! Then in the other lower blank space I wrote "Gates Open on: (Date) Main Event Starts: (Time) for the address field I wrote-Tanner's Speedway then the address followed. Directly below that I wrote Stop or Go for the RSVP followed by the phone number. This only costed maybe $2 with the paper and ink to make 20 invites! DECORATIONS/IDEAS: I bought some checkered material at Michaels to make flags. An easy way to make them is to fold the material on the lines and hot glue them together!! No sewing & literally took no time at all plus hot glue is cheap! I bought 3 yards of material for $6 and it made 30 small flags 2 huge flags and 4 medium flags. The sticks were spendy at Michaels so I had this great idea to use shish cabob sticks. Only $1 for a pack & they worked great! We decided to have a station for each game and area. The first station is when the children arrive SHERIFF'S DMV. Out of cardboard I drew Sheriff cut him out then painted him. I got a bunch of free carpet rolls to hold up this sign. All of the signs I made are about 4x3 foot. The kids would then sit down and there they were given there licenses. I downloaded McQueen and a Mater image and before the party had people email pics of their children. I had the car along with the childs picture and name of the child. To save money I didn't laminate them but printed them on photo paper & they looked amazing!! The kids were in heaven to have their own license! Station 2 was CARS BINGO made up by me. I downloaded a bunch of cars characters organized them in Powerpoint moved them around & printed a sheet off so they were all different(took a good hour). I printed off all of the characters for Bingo time. The kids loved this game. Station 2 I cut CARS and BINGO out of cardboard & hand drew images around the board. I painted the letters colorful and left a spot open to put the cars when they were called out. Station 3 TOW MATER TOSS out of a big cardboard box I constructed Mater and left two holes open for his eyes & drew his eyes above that. I bought one pack of 4 cars balls at the $1 store to toss in the eyes. Also made a sign out of cardboard that said Tow Mater Toss painted colorfully. Awesome game! Station 4 MUSICAL MCQUEEN I drew Mcqueen cut it out and painted it to look like the real thing! Played this like musical chairs except pass mcqueen around.  Station 5 FLO'S V8 CAFE-I made a  PIT STOP sign. I made Flo's cafe just like in the movie! Lots of cardboard & duct tape. Painted the whole thing. Very easy this was 6x5. We set up all the food here. FOOD:Bagel bites(wheels) Mater Tater salad Mack's-a-Roni salad Filmore's fruit skewers Mexican Dip(write CARS with tomatoes)...this idea I stole :) Grape Koolaid(Motoroil) Green Koolaid(Antifreeze). For the cake we did a cupcake tower. Printed off some checkered paper and stick them in toothpicks for flags and printed off some cars images. For goody bag stuffers I did a real flag bubbles(made a cars label from Powerpoint) cars fruit snacks raisins(again made a cars label for that). I also made a pull string pinata. I got a thin box painted it in black & white squares filled it with candy then inserted colorful strings on the side(one being the one that would open it! This only costed me the paint! To save on the budget I purchased red plates napkins cups etc. I did buy one set of cars items just for the kids. The kids had so much fun. This party was very cheap $55 for all of the food and decor. I picked up everything cheap or free!"
