Girly Girls Slumber Party 12yr

November 2011  x

Hi everyone! This is a birthday party that I am going to have, but haven't had yet. I got a few of the ideas from this website! If you are a tomboy, you probably won't enjoy this party so much, as me and my friends are quite girly. INVITATIONS: My theme for the invitations is SOPHISTICATION. I am into fashion and style, so my invites were dark purple and grey for the words, and underneath I put stars in colours like pale blue, pink, purple and grey, all in a line. I made them on Microsoft word, and stated the obvious - where/who/when/what/please bring etc. They look really cool, very pretty and the font was quirky and fun.  DECORATIONS: For decorations I have balloons in the theme colours (purple, pink, silver and dark blue) that I will blow up and put all over the floor in my living room, which is where we will be hanging out. I also have some table confetti in silver and dark blue to put on the food table (see more below about food).  Don't go too over the top, because it is a house party and may look cheesy. ACTIVITIES: I suggest planning only a few activities, as you may not have much fun if everything is planned too much.  I have three activities. *NO.1* DECORATING TOTE BAGS - I've bought some large, cotton tote bags with no pattern or design on it, and loads of craft items like sequins, fabric paints, glitter glue, Sharpie pens, etc. What we'll do is let everyone design theirs first on a sheet of paper, then just go wild and start decorating.  Everyone will have their own, personalised tote bag. Make sure everything you are planning to use will work on the bags.  Another idea is to buy some transfers and give each girl the transfer of their choice, then iron it on.  *NO.2* Cupcake decorating - Make/buy a batch of cupcakes with no frosting, and buy frosting in different colours, icing, sprinkles, edible glitter, etc and let everyone decorate a few cupcakes. Eat these after the food. *NO.3* Funny quiz - Get your parents/siblings to write out some general knowledge questions, and fill two or three bin bags with a mixture of fancy dress and normal clothing items. Ask each guest a question in turn, and if they get a question wrong, they must put on one item of clothing! This is hilarious! PARTY SNACKS: For snacks, we will have a buffet table at the very beginning, and we will sit down and eat whichever foods we want (crisps, chocolate, sweets, dips, veggies - whatever) a little later, we will have take away pizza and then eat the cupcakes we decorated. Always provide drinks if anyone wants any. FAVORS: For the favors, I have filled 1 dark blue cellophane bag (dark blue is my favourite colour) with an ice cream lip balm, a mini notepad, a cheap nail polish set, a candy necklace and a Love Hearts lipstick sweet. Since I am only inviting three guests, I have spent a bit more money that usual on the favor bags, but you can get some pretty cool ones for cheap.   I hope you liked my idea and wish me luck for the party!!!
