INVITATIONS:cut poster board out like the shape of a ticket and write ADMIT ONE or TICKET on one side and on the other side write the details(you can also write that you have to bring the ticket to get in or get a prize)ACTIVITIES: Bounce castle. Inflatable trampoline like houses that let kids literally bounce off the walls ($200).Popcorn machine. Worth the price for the smell alone ($40).Cotton candy machine. Nothing says carnival (or wash your face") like this sticky treat ($40). Snow cone or slush machine. A cooling option for hot summer carnivals ($40).Dunking tank. Easier to rent than it is to staff ($150).GAMES:if you have a truck or know someone with a truck ask them if you can borrow it then take it to the backyard and fill the trunk with water.then get toy fish of various sizes and put magnets and stickers with points on them (the biggest one 15 and smallest one 5)Give them tickets based on their total score.Basketball Shooting (draw a line on the driveway 1 ticket per shot made)Ball Toss (toss 3 softballs into a basket win a prize)Putting Challenge (borrow Dad's putter and putt returner) Guess the number of jelly beans or animal crackers in the jar (and win them all or 20 tickets)Quarterback Test (throw a football through a hanging hula hoop)FACE-PAINTING:the key to having a successful face-painting booth is to provide a chart of sample images easy-to-draw items like a rainbow balloon lollipop heart and lightning bolt. This lets kids know exactly what their options are and serves as a handy reference sheet for your volunteer artist (a great job for a steady-handed older sibling or grown-up).FAVORS:set up a booth and have tons of toys/favors and put a label in front of them to tell everyone how many tickets it cost to get them(tickets from playing games).Hire a professional clown or recruit a volunteer to make balloon animals. You can charge one ticket or just give them away for fun. Snacks:and one of my faves…. Funnel Cakes  Ingredients:  1 egg 2/3 cup milk 2 Tablespoons sugar 1 1/4 cup flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder  Funnel Cake Directions: 1. In a deep skillet heat about two cups of oil over medium-high heat until hot. Test the temperature by dropping a pinch of flour into the hot oil. If it sizzles right away without smoking it's perfect.  2. Beat egg and milk. Mix all other ingredients in a separate bowl and slowly add to the egg mixture beating until smooth.  3. Using a funnel drop into hot oil working from center outwards in a web pattern. (You can use a gallon sized freezer bag instead of a funnel by pouring the batter into the bag snipping off a small corner of it and squeezing the batter into the oil.)  4. Cook for about 2-3 minutes remove from the oil when golden brown and crispy. 5. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.   "
