For my daughter's 6th birthday we had a tea party.
The invitation asked the girls to dress for Tea. We had candelabra's set up with costume jewelry hanging off of them so when the girls got to the house they could pick out a few pieces to wear and keep. Each place setting had a placecard and a teacup and saucer for each girl. I got the cups and saucers at Goodwill so each child had a different one. I made rasberry lemonade with ice cubes made from the lemonade and with rasberries floating in the cubes. The lemonade was served from a punch bowl. I made tea sandwiches cut out in the shape of hearts, teapots and flowers. I served veggies with dip and made individual flower shaped jello in a variety of flavors using a flower silicon mold. I also made a teapot cake and flower shaped cakes. For the craft each girl made her own bonnet for the Tea Party. I bought from Michael's crafts straw hats for each girl and jewels, ribbon and gerber daisys that clipped onto the hats. THe jewles were adhered using dot glue. For the games we had a pinata and we played pass the present (modified hot potato)where instead of being out if you had the present when the music stopped you unwrapped one layer of the wrapping. The girl to unwrap the last layer got to pick first from the flavored chapstick and bracelets that were in the box (there were enough for one of each per girl). The girls took home as their favor, the costume jewelry, their tea cup, their hats and their chapstick and bracelet. A good time was had by all.
