We decided to have a Monster Truck/Monster Jam party for our 4 yr old since he is obsessed with monster trucks! We already owned a room full of truck toys so why not?!!? INVIATIONS: We set the stage for the party by creating invitations that looked like a ticket for a monster truck show. I used clip art and royalty free pictures of monster trucks, steel grating and rivited metal. It read: Party Pass (top), _ is turning 4! Grab your swimsuit and race on over for a smashing time! (used picture of truck smashing cars).day, date and location. Light turns green at _. All Access Pit Pass (bottom). RSVP to manager_. I placed them in regular security envelops (like at will call) and decorated the outside with stickers. The kids went nuts and asked me about it for the weeks leading up to the party! DECORATIONS:We ordered monster jam plates and napkins from birthdayexpress.com. We had 7 round tables that we covered in red plastic tablecloths. i then placed a bandana (either black and white checkered or black with red fames purchased at hobby lobby) in the center and then set one of my sons numerous monster trucks (1:32 scale i believe, rev tredz) with three balloons attached to each in the colors orange, yellow and black. ACTIVITIES/GAMES: Since this was at a club pool, I purchased 6 inflatable rings that looked like tires, several water guns and water balls at the dollar tree. All were a huge hit and the party scheduled after us wanted to keep the rings and guns! PARTY SNACKS/CAKE:This truely was a no hassel party as the club provied the food and snacks in its party package. Several different types of chips were out during swim time as well as lemonade. We were then served monster mutt" dogs (hot dogs) with fries. the parents had the option to "el toro loco" their dog with chili smoke would come out of their nose like el toro loco!!). The cake was purchased at a local bakery and hand decorated with a picture of the "ninja turle" monster truck with graham cracker crumb dirt and served with ice cream. the table was decorated with a personalized monster truck banner from birthday express more bandanas and much larger monster truck toys (ours) with balloons. We also had a large pinata made (a popular item in our area so custom pinatas are easy to find) to look like the batman monster truck. We couldn't bust it at the pool so we hung it above the cake table and had the neighbor kids help bust it the next night. FAVORS:Monster truck favor boxes from b.e. filled with a water gun scented bubbles small mechanical pencil small spiral notebook decorated with truck stickers (all from d.t.) and sheet of truck stickers from b.e. Even the girls enjoyed the goodies. NOTE:thank you to all the entries! i have read many and love your creativity! OTHER IDEAS:The pool was a changed a month out due to good fortune (we won the party!!) but i had some other ideas for our backyard...a large tarp with lots of wet sand for rc monster truck race and car crush (or manual play)lots of checkered flags and traffic lights old tires placed around the yard (salvage yard or use inflatable pool rings)for decoration and a toss gameplate of chocolate donuts (tires)red light green light game(of course) pin the tire/lisence plate on the truckhave local "jacked up" truck park outside or offer rides (we know a couple people who own these type vechicles and my son calls them monster trucks). good luck and have fun!!!"
