My daughter is turning 8 and we decided on a pop star party.
We have planned this well in advance so we can hit up all the dollar stores, liquidation worlds and outlets to find great, cheap, stuff to decorate and dress up. We are planning on having stars on our sidewalk as our guests arrive, balloons at the door and I will great them with my sunglasses on. We bought the Girls Rule" party pack from oriental trading company. It contains lots of party items in the them of hot pink and black how fun is that to come to a party and get a gift bag! Each bag contains: color hair piece sequence scarf with matching bracelet blow up guitar sun glasses (cool ones with glitter on them) and a lip gloss. When the guests arrive we have them make their own body glitter (purchase containers at the buck store have them mix Aloe Vera Gel with glitter voila body glitter) and will paint their nails. In order to break the ice I am having the girls play a fun dress up game (like hot potatoe) when the music stops they reach into a bag and pull out an item the items in the bag are just items from our home past halloween stuff glases hats scarves nose and mustach glasses etc. as the game progresses it is fun to see the silly outfits on the girls. Once we have our body glitter and have had our fun being silly we will give them the gift bags and have them dress up and enter our "party zone" - which is our basement. We have put black poly on the walls turned on a strobe light have a disco ball loud music (Miley Cyrus Jonas Brothers Hilary Duff..) and a fringe curtain looks fantastic. The girls will dance and party with their blow up guitars till it is time for pizza and cupcakes decorated with mini guitars. Lots of paparatzi photos will be taken and autographs requested from each popstar. As the girls leave they get to take their little gift bags and all the items in it with them - I also have a small little bag of candy to hand out as they leave (what's a party without candy?)"
