Olympic Games Party We had a lot of fun at my son's birthday party this year. We held "The Summer Olympics." The games all had official Olympic names, for instance the
javelin throw was actually a contest to see how far each child could blow a straw wrapper (imagine their delight for not getting in trouble for this little feat!), there was synchronized
swimming which was a relay between teams passing water cup by cup from one bucket to another, track and field included a sack race and three legged race, wind sprints consisted of blowing a
Ping-Pong ball down a banquet table, etc. etc.
The "medals" were actually gold-foil covered chocolate coins taped onto ribbon. For the treat we served mini "torches"- which were cupcakes made in ice cream cones and frosted with yellow and orange frosting. It was an easy party and very inexpensive. This would work for a winter games too!
