My son is in love with Peter Pan. For his 4th birthday he requested a Peter Pan party. It took a little creativity... Decorations: I did it very simple. I took blue and green streamers and twisted them all over the living room, dining area, and patio. Also got green cups, plates, etc to put on top of the plastic blue tablecloth ($1).  Invitations: I did these on the computer. The front said,"All you need is faith and trust. And a little bit of..." then you open it up and it says "PIXIE DUST!". For "pixie dust" we used glitter. The rest of it gave all the info, where, when, etc.. Cake: My mother-in-law is great at cakes, but she said it was actually easy. She did two 8 inch round chocolate cakes, frosted them white, and then made green candy molds. One cake had candy numbers to make a clock, the other had candy letters to spell "Happy Birthday Joseph". Then she did an alligator cake. Said she just made several white pan cakes then cut them to shape an alligator. Made green frosting and frosted them all together. She even frosted on eyes, it was really cute! It didn't matter that the other two cakes were chocolate, the kids all wanted the alligator cake! We probably could have just gone with the one cake, because we were giving pieces to the kids to take home! Games: Cannonball toss- My husband got a big piece of plywood and cut a hole in the middle of it. We filled up balloons with water and the kids got to try to make the "cannonball" get in the hole. You could go 2 ways with this. We actually used regular balloons which didn't pop, so no mess. But, for more fun, I suggest water balloons. The kids thought the best part was when we had the mommies & daddies try it. They went nuts cheering their parents on!      Find the X- A rendition of "Pin the tail on the donkey". I drew neverland on a grocery bag (which took me about 2 hours to do!). We burned the edges to make it look like a treasure map. Then my son picked a place for X. We drew X in red. Got a blindfold and some push pins. Whoever got closest to the X, won.         Treasure hunt- I bought a bunch of those chocolate coins and buried them in our sandbox. My sons birthday is in November, so they didn't melt. I would probably suggest doing the plastic coins, though. The kids had a blast digging around in there looking for coins. Goodie bags: I bought these little pirate goodie bags. In them I put an eye patch, gold coins, those mardi gras beads, and ring pops. It all kind of went with the pirate treasure theme. We all had a lot of fun. One Mom actually called during the party to see if her son and husband were still at our house because she didn't know a party to last so long!
