When my son was 5 he was obsessed with Peter Pan. We have a beach in our community which we transformed into Neverland. The invitation was a map to the beach which also contained pixie dust
(white glitter),to help the children get to the party. The children came dressed as pirates, Indians and lost children (my son was Peter Pan of course). When the children arrived I
(Wendy)traced their bodies onto brown paper, so they could take home their own shadow. At pirate cove the had to walk the plank (a homemade balance beam),at mermaid lagoon they dug for
treasure and we had a croc bean bag toss. All prizes were in a Rubbermaid treasure chest. We served bologna on half a sub roll with pretzels sticking through olive port holes, a wooden skewer
with the pirate logo sail and a baby carrot flag. The goodie bags had pirate patches, gold coins and crocodile clackers. he children also took home loads of jewels, beads and rings from the
prize treasure chest. I have given lots of birthday parties but this was the most fun.
