Treasure Hunt birthday party
!!! Great for 4-7 years old. First I did the invitations on paper cut out in shape of treasure box. Inside it said, Prince/Princess ----------- Is cordially invited to a treasure hunt birthday party at ----------castle @ YOUR ADDRESS HERE, time and date. RSVP to pirate------------YOUR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER. Then on the day of party I had my husband dress up in eyepatch and head bandana to look like pirate, and greet all the guests. The children were so excited to see a real pirate at the door, and then he would announce their names, "Prince/ Princess ----------- is here." We had a "Find-the-treasure-box" (same as pin the tail on donkey) game. I found a treasure map online and printed it out and glued it on a card board with some princess, prince, horses, and balloons around it. With Blindfold on the children had to put a sticker on the treasure box on the map. They loved it. We also had treasure hunt. In a separate room I spread out candy, necklaces, rings, bracelets, small cars, pencils, erasers, gold coins candy, small note pads to write, etc and each child took their loot bags and had a lot of fun filling them up. The cake was of course made in shape of treasure box. it would be plain rectangular shape with lines on it to make it look like treasure box. Add some rings, necklaces and gold coins on and around it to make it look real. For crafts I got small wooden and paper mache boxes and painted them ahead of time, in lots of different colors. The children choose their favorite color treasure box, glued sequence and buttons, etc on it to make it look real pretty. Then they choose one of their favorite color gem stone and glued it inside the box. This craft was a hit and all the kids, both girls and boys, all enjoyed it tremendously.
