Pirate Party - 4 year old For my son's angus's 4th birthday we had a a pirate party. For INVITATIONS I used an old scroll background from my print shop and wrote Ahoy there matey's, ye be
invited for some birtdhay spirits at Captain Angus's Bucaneer bash. Chart yer course for the 13th of August at 1:00.
Join us fer some grub, fun and kiddie treats. Waver yer flag if ye be attendin..if not ye'll have to walk the plank if ye dare..we rolled these up and put them in old coke bottles and tied a ribbon on them so they could pull them out. My son dressed up in his pirate hat and sword and delivered them.. We had 12 kids.GAMES: When the kids arrived they I tied a bandana on them like Pirates do and gave them a cool priate tattoo. and put a pirates earring on..The first activity was walk the plank..my husband put a large plank over our kiddie pool and they each had to walk the plank..when they copmpleted this they got their eyepatch. Then we played a hook game.. I took a bowl of pretezs and made a hook from a large plastic cup and a coat hanger and spray painted it gold. They took turns seeing who could hook the most pretezls in 30 seconds..for their efforts they each got sword..the girls got bead necklaces. Then they played pin the treausre on the map. I bought this game at toys r us.. They each got a small pirate flag for playing. Then we had a coin toss. They each got a priate loot bag and I threw a ton of platic gold pirate coins in the air and they collected them.We then ate: I had chicken legs from KFC, colesaw, root beer and they all ate on little picnic tables..I borrowed some tables from my friends. Then it was time for the cake we had a baker do a pirate shaped cake..awesome..we then had a pinata in the shape of a Parrot. The kids used the treat bags they were given earlier to collect the stuff. candy and I got a bag of Pirate party toys for pinats froma party supply store. this had telescopes, pirate money, stuff with skeletons..etc, My son opened his presents and then we had the finale treasure hunt.. For this I took diaper wipe boxes and spray painted them gold. and with glitter gel put the kids names on them.I his htem on my neighbor Jills hill under a tree with a black sheet on them with a big X I made out of maskin tape. The clues were nursery rhymes and they had to fill in the blank and that led them to the next clue..This worked great because the kids new the rhymes.. LIke Mary Mary quite contrary how does your ____grow? The last oone was Jack and __went up the hill..my son got it right away. In the treasure boxes was more pirate stuff..ring pops, candy necklaces etc. These were a hit and many of the kids still have their treasure boxes. The kids had a great time at this party.. It was alot of work but worth it.I dressed like a priate too...all the parents stayed to watch and they loved the party.Kids ranged in age from 4-6..and they all were very excited.
