Pirate Sleep-over party!
For my best friends younger sister's party we thought of something special. It was her golden birthday. She was turning 9yrs old! We thought a Pirate Party was the right way to go. The invitations where written in pirate slang and the kids were told to bring their favorite mate. My friend and myself had planned the whole thing. GAMES: My friend and I made treasure maps to go to 6 different hidden treasure chests! The chests were crayon boxes with a golden glittery pencil, glitter chapstick, golden coins (bubble gum), glitter hair clips, a movie and pop with popcorn pass to the "Underwater Movie" (down stairs)and other candy. The maps to the treasure were put in the oven to look old and worn. The kids made pirate hats and patches with construction paper and markers. Then there was a coin dig! We had a baby pool filled with sand and pennies hidden in there. The kids were given 1 min to find as many as they could and the person that one got a prize! Then there was pin the patch on the pirate. For something fun to do they made pretzels. We baked them and they had them with chicken noodle soup and tomato soup with veggies, and crackers with cheese. DECORATIONS: My friend her older sister her mom and I all dressed up as pirates for the party. For the upstairs we had a big tropical tree on an island with a treasure box. Then we had a big ship steering wheel that could spin. Over the stair going down stairs we put a plank with a cardboard pirate on it saying if your don't behave you'll have to walk the plank! There was homemade paper chains all hung over everywhere. Then the down stair was "underwater". We hung blue streamers for the waves and green for the sea weed. My friend and I made lot of fish, jellyfish, sharks, and whales and hung them from the ceiling. We also made a giant anchor and hung that from the ceiling also. For the cake we made a treasure box with candy necklaces, ring pops, reeses pieces, and gold chocolate coins. For the Underwater movie we watch Hook! The kids love the party!
