My daughter wanted to have a sleep-over for her 6th birthday, but I wasn't ready for that so instead we had a Pajama Parade and Pizza Party.
All her girlfriends came over at 5pm in their coolest pajamas. The party started with each child decorating paper towel tubes and other recyclables to make instruments for the parade until everyone arrived. Then when everyone was ready the kids put on make-up and did each other's hair for a pajama fashion show. By that time the pizza arrived and everyone ate. Later we had a pillow fight and settled in for a "mystery movie" which my husband used a proxy to project on our back wall. It was just like being at the movies! I served each girl with her own brown bag of popcorn ( brown lunch bags I got for $.99 for 50. My daughter had fun all week decorating them ), a candy bar, and a capri sun. Just to be sure no one would sleep that night we had birthday cake after the movie and then got ready for the big finale! At 10pm each of the girls got their decorations and lined up for the Pajama Parade. I handed out glow in the dark party favors and cam lights so each child could be seen and We marched around my court singing and having a lot of fun. We even did double duty by dropping each of the girls at their front door. Most of the neighbors came out side and watched the show and all the girls loved the attention. It was by the best and easiest parties I have ever thrown. The neighbors talked about it for weeks and my daughter can't wait till next year to do it again.
