For my 13th birthday party, i thought it would be fun to have a movie star/hollywood themed birthday party, and it was a big hit! How ever much money you are allowed to spend, it will still be a blast. I had my party at home, and i invited ten friends. INVITATIONS: For my invitations, i made them star shaped. The materials you will need are; yellow construction paper(black too..is optional), ribbon, felt pens, a star tracer(or you can draw star), scissors, glue and a hole puncher. I printed a shape of a star of the computer to be my tracer, and then traced onto three peices of construction paper, yellow on front, black glued to on back of yellow, and the yellow inside (the black is used for shadow or outline and the keep the paper sturdy-optional). Then I wrote "You're Invited" in the middle of the yellow star. I hole punched the yellow front and the yellow inside and strung colorful ribbon through to keep them together. On the inside write all of the birthday information. DECOR/PRIZES: All i did for decor was buy gold and silver balloons, and put a gold tablecloth on the "craft service table". But you could make it more fancy by putting a "HOLLYWOOD" sign or red carpet. At the dollar store i bought two bottles of glow in the dark silly string and two sets of star necklaces and earrings for prizes. I also bought 10 assorted long beaded necklaces, and 10 assorted sunglasses for the guests to wear once they arrived. These things are very inexpensive if you go to a local dollar store. FOOD: For snacks, i bought three bags of chips and a fruit plate. My dad also put out a big stand up cooler, filled with ice and filled it with different pops, so the guests could get drinks whenever they pleased. For dinner, my dad barbecued hot dogs, and we had ceaser salad. For the cake, my mom had gotten Dairy Queen to make me a great cake that went tottaly with the theme. ACTIVITIES: I had a lot planned to do, but my parents ended up suprising me and my friends with a double-stretch SUV limozine for an hour. It was awesome, and my parents even got us sparkling apple juice champagne for a special touch. When we got back home, we had a platform shoe shaped piniata, which was also great fun. After dinner, we did kareoke, because i have a kareoke machine. For the party, i also brought out lots and lots of dress-up clothes. I had also planned to have a scavenger hunt in the dark, but it didnt happen. Later on, we watched the movie Grease, and then two of my closest friends slept over. This was the best birthday party i have ever had, and remember to take lots of pictures. I hope this gives you some ideas.
