We turned our backyard into a Pokemon Journey.   I made a poke' ball cake. Each boy received a "Pokedex" (a flip notebook with pictures of each Pokemon)and their first Pokemon from "Professor Oak" of course. Then the boys had to win the other Pokemon. We hid small rubber toys that looked like the different Pokemon. When a child found one he had to battle for it. Using a big soft dice 2 kids roll to see who wins the battle. The one who wins gets the pokemon, and goes to find another. If you lose you must take your Pokemon to the "Pokemon Center" where he is looked at and you receive a stamp on your hand. We set up a "Vermilion city" were the boys got to play games for play coins, then they got to spend the money at the "Pallet town" store (the Party favors). We painted Ping-Pong balls to look like poke' balls, they loved those. We taped off a square for the poke Gym and with plastic swords they battled for their Trainer's Badge. We taped the "Team rocket" music and My husband and I got to bomb the boys with water balloons. This party went on forever because it is like going from center to center. If you have lots of favors to win it can last as long as you want. The boys loved it.
