My son, Derik, was dying for a Pokemon party for his 7th birthday, and once the planning began, it became one amazing party to remember... We had as many Pokemon decorations as you could
remember, along with yellow and red streamers and balloons.
Using Pokemon Gotta Make 'Em All Project Studio software, I created a poster of Pikachu for the wall and cut out tails for the children to pin on him. I also created a "Who Wants To Be A Pokemon Master" poster which hung from the front of a table for the favorite game of the day! His school friends were invited for an afternoon of Pokemon fun, which began with an ice-breaking game of "Who's That Pokemon?" One child stood in front of the group and I gave him/her a Pokemon sticker only they would see. The other children had to ask yes and no questions to discover which Pokemon the child was. The winner got the next turn, and the stickers were the child's to keep or wear. They also played "Pass the Pokemon" which was hot potato using a plush pokemon. The biggest moment of the afternoon was when the children sat down to play our version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, which was my son's favorite show at the time. After paging through my son's Pokemon Handbook, I typed up about five pages of different multiple choice questions for the kids. The children took turns sitting in the hot seat with Mom being "Regis", and instead of money, the children won Pokemon Badges (badges were made with the software and simply cut out) for each correct answer. After their turn was over, they received a certificate with their name on it, also made with the software, declaring they became a Pokemon Master on the date of the party. While the other children finished the game, winners got to glue the badges to the certificate and before the children went home, I placed them in black frames I purchased at the dollar store. A very cute favor to take home! Children had lunch followed by cupcakes decorated to look like PokeBalls. All the children had their picture taken with our stand-up of Ash. This was one of Derik's favorite birthdays, and I have to say, in planning this Pokemon Bash, I learned much much more than an adult ever needs to know about the Pokemon craze!!
