POKEMON Party For my sons 9th birthday we had to have Pokemon. At this time there were NO Pokemon party supplies in the stores...so I hit the web, downloaded a lot of graphics from
various web sights and made my own. My husband made a Staryu cake out of a round cake, and a 9 x 13. He used the round cake for the middle and cut triangles out of the
rectangle.
To keep the kids busy, they each received a game-booklet and pokemon pencil that I had made All of the games were Pokemon related. I had a crossword puzzle, word search, a matching game, which one doesn't belong, a "how many new words can you create from POCKET MONSTER" game, the tray memorization game where I had a whole tray of anything related to Pokemon, the kids got to see the tray for 1 minute then they had to write down everything they could remember. For some of the games like the wordsearch, or crossword I had a bowl filled with pokemon cards turned upside down. When they showed me a finished sheet they got to go to the bowl to pick out a pokemon card...everyone was all excited because there was a Charizard card in the bowl and no one knew who would get it. Another game we played was the glove/present game. You take your prize and wrap it in layer after layer of newspaper, you just keep adding layers, the last layer I wrapped in Pokemon paper. All the kids sit in a circle and the first person dons a pair of Dads biggest pair of mittens/gloves. He's got 1 minute to try to unwrap all the paper to get to the prize. Then it goes on to the next person. This is a lot harder than it sounds, a group of 8 boys took over a 1/2 hour trying to get the prize unwrapped. They boys were definitely kept busy that night!
