We just had a Pokemon party for our 7-yr old a few hours ago...and what a success it was! First, the boys got Pokemon tattoos on their faces, hands.
Next, we decorated their "lunch bags" into Pokemon goodie bags. Then we ate lunch. Hot dogs, chips, grapes, soda and best of all...red and white Jell-O Jigglers "Poke-eggs." What a hit! (Strawberry and White Grape flavors in Jell-O egg molds). After lunch we spray painted Ping-Pong balls into pokeballs. Then we made our own pokemasks! I drew out about 9 different pokemon on white posterboard and outlined in black marker and cut them out large enough to fit a kid's face. They all colored them very well, and it turned out to be the best time! I stapled on the elastic (about 12 in.) and punched out eyeholes. I took a photo of all the little pokemons and will send that to each child along with a thank you note. We then played pin the tail on the Picachu (just bought a Picachu poster and cut out yellow tails). They loved that. The piņata was a big hit. Buy a basketball shape from Wal-Mart ($5.95) and spray paint it to look like a pokeball! Also, they loved my cupcakes made to look like pokeballs. Half red sprinkles, half white, with black icing down the middle with a circle. Oh, we played musical chairs too with the Pokemon theme music in the background. We pretty much had Pokemon music going the whole time. Had the yellow helium balloons everywhere. So they went home with a balloon, their goodie bag full of great candy, and Pokemon fruit snacks, Pokemon pencils, and their Pokemon Ping-Pong balls. I just woke up from my nap and thought I'd share this. It turned out more wonderful than I thought!! Good luck with your Pokemon party!
