For my daughter's 4th birthday party she had a horse party.  We decorated with crepe paper and balloons and horse decorations from birthdayexpress. I printed off horse coloring pages from the internet and attached them to some blank party bags.  When the guests arrived they were able to color their bags while waiting for everyone to arrive.  We then played toss the cowboy hat. Everyone tried to toss a cowboy hat (bought from oriental trading) onto the head of my daughter's rocking horse. Everyone "won" their hat.  We then played pin the tail on the horse and each person won a 8 inch plastic horse I had gotten at the dollar store.  The "winner" got to pick his/her horse first and so on. We tied nametags on the horses and then had a "horse race". Out of green wrapping paper I had drawn out a large grid .  I then took my daughter's Chutes and Ladders Spinner, covered in in paper and adapted it to the game.  Each child got to spin and then move their horse down the grid that number of places. The first child their "won" their bandana and so on until everyone had finished.  We had a horse pinata filled with candy and smaller plastic horses.  I had also purchased white t-shirts online in bulk (less than $3 each) and had made iron-ons out of ink jet iron-on paper of horse coloring pages from the internet. The kids used fabric markers to color in their shirts.  The bags filled up with all their goodies that they were able to take home...horse, bandana, hat, shirt and pinata prizes.  We had a cake topped with green frosting and small plastic horses and everyone took turns riding my daughter's spring horse we bought downstairs for the event. I had smaller stuffed horses for the toddler siblings of our guests (bought at the dollar store). Everyone had a great time.
