Party Supplies

For my daughter's 2nd birthday, we had a Cowgirl Party.  The invitations said Howdy Ya'll! Please come to a birthday round-up for Analeigh's 2nd Birthday.  We had the party at our house.  When everyone got to the party, they were given a sherriff's badge with their name on it and a cowboy/girl hat (both from Oriental Trading Co.).  We rented a bouncer that looked like a horse and that was the first thing all of the kids did. A friend of ours had a real horse and he brought the horse for everyone to ride if they wanted to (he walked with the horse). Some of the children were scared of the horse, so they just kept on jumping in the bouncer. After the horse rides, we all went into the garage.  I set up different areas that go along with the western theme.  Each table was covered with a red and white gingham table cloth (OTC).  I had a table set up with plastic cups that children could shoot down with water guns, a pool filled with sand where children hunted for gold coins and horses, a table that had coloring sheets of horses, boots, campfires, and cowboy/girl hats and a basket of crayons, and two rocking horses that the kids could ride on (my daughter had one, and a neighbor let me borrow the other). After all of the games we ate hotdogs, chips and dip, chex mix, goldfish, cowgirl kool-aid and of course, cake.  The cake was shaped like a cow-girl boot in girly colors.  It even had a spur! I also had cookies made in the shape of sherriff's badges (stars) on sticks with gold candy studs at each point on the star. After we ate, we all went back into the garage and tried to burst the boot shaped pinata. This was hard for the young ones, so we uncovered the hole in the bottom of the pinata so when they hit it candy would fall out even if they didn't hit it hard.  After the birthday cowgirl opened her presents, we sent everyone home with a goodie bag, their own cowgirl/boy hat, and their sherriff's badge. I made the goodie bags with different colored bandanas and filled them with miniature horses, candy, a water gun, gold coins, and star rings.  I tied the bandanas up with twine.  Everyone had a great time and it's not very expensive if you can get most of the favors, table cloths, bandanas, hats, and sherriff badges from OTC.  I hope our party gives you some good ideas so you can have just as much fun as we did.
