Eeyore's Birthday Party My 6 year old daughter fell in love with Eeyore on a recent trip to Disney world. So for her birthday she begged me to have an Eeyore, not Pooh, party at home. I
racked my brain to come up with a few ideas.
Invitation: Downloaded a photo of Eeyore from wed. Otside of invitation read: Don't suppose you'd come to my Birthday Party? Inside: But(child's name ) and I would be thrilled if you did.! party info, followed by: if its not to big a bother please RSVP to: I decorated our basement with tons of paper flowers, used the poled in the basement as tree trunks and hung green streamers from the ploes to make them look like trees. My kids cut out leaves and made butterflies and dragonflies from construction paper. I used purple-ish tablecloths to cover party table and bought real mums as centerpieces. The local grocery store had Pooh, tigger and piglet balloons , the type on sticks, and I stuck them in the plants. But the real attraction was an enormous Eeyore balloon that I fastened to the party girls chair. I also had flag banners of pooh, tigger abd Eeyore that I hung from the rafters. I have to say, it made a dreary basement really stand out! For fun and games: we painted flower pots( .69 cents local craft store) and planted flowers( $1 a piece fron the local home depot) in Rabbits garden, We made Eeyores house from grahm crackers and pretzels sticks and characters that I found wrapped in chocolate at a local drug store. They were assembled using royla icing, like you would put together a gingerbread house, than they decorated it with jeyy beans so that the characters looked like they were on an egg hunt. we used coconut tinted green fr grass. I wrapped them all in purple cellophane and tied with a pretty purple bow. Of course, we had to plat pin the tail on Eeyore. I made tails from grey yarn that I braided together and tied a red checked bow to the end. i glued on a small piece of sculpy that I made look like a button. These tails were re-usable and i sent them home with kids and suggested they use them as book marks, they were delighted! We aso had the typical games with a twist: Eeyore says, and "hot" eeyore. There was also a pinata that had Pooh characters, after all we were in the 100 akre wood! Food: Pizza and cake that I had a local bakery make an edible image of my daughter standing with Eeyore from our recent Disney trip. She was thrilled, as were her friends. I served juice boxes that had pooh characters on them and vegetales"from rabbits garden". i also made a fruit dip that I dyed pink and called piglet's dip. It was made from marshmellow fluff and an 8oz block of cream cheese. The kids dipped strawberries, grapes and blueberries. It was very tasty. Goody bags: contained Eeyore's tail, a small book og Pooh and friends, Eeyore pencils and pooh gummies, alsong with Pinata candy. The kids also took home their potted plants and Eeyore pretzel houses. My daughter hated to see the party end, as did her 12 guests. It is a party we won't soon forget!
