For my daughters 3rd birthday we did a Pooh's Play Time Party.
We decorated the dining room with multi-colored streamers, tons of balloons (the more the better) and Pooh Play Time Partyware. The centerpiece was a large stuffed Pooh from my daughter's room and the cake. Pooh themed confetti was scattered on the table along with extra ribbon from the balloons. The cake was made by her grandmother in the shape of a Pooh head. We had "Tigger-ific Party Mix" (party mix in a labeled bowel), Pooh-nut and butter sandwiches (peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut out with a large cookie cutter in the shape of Pooh), "Roo Jigglers" (jell-o jigglers in basic shapes – hearts, stars, circles) and ice cream. As the kids walked in the door each one "signed" (using finger paint they made their hand print and I labeled each) a large Pooh card for my daughter that I printed out on the computer. All presents were placed around a Pooh chair from my daughter's room. Using plastic kiddy picnic tables from outside (covered in color themed plastic table clothes) I had the activity area setup in the living room. The kids made Piglet Placemats. Each kid got two Pooh themed pictures (printed out on the computer and made copies) to color using markers and/or crayons. I had pre-cut cardboard to match the size of two coloring pages and Con-Tact paper cut a little larger than the cardboard. When they finished, I laid the pictures on top of the cardboard and covered them with the Con-tact paper. Wola! They had Piglet Placemats. While they were making their placemats I had The Book of Pooh playing on the TV. After the activity they watched a little of Pooh and while they were doing this I put their newly created masterpieces at the table. The kids loved the table and they enjoyed the snacks. After snack time they got to have cake and ice cream. What a big mess! If you could only see the pictures! With some help from Grandma we cleaned up the kids and herded them into the living room. It was time for the much anticipated "present time." After "present time" we did Pin the Tail on Eeyore. I had a large pint out of Eeyore pined to the wall and gave each kid an Eeyore tail. One at a time, each kid was blindfolded and spun around three times. Then I pointed them in the direction of Eeyore and let them loose. The one that taped Eeyore's tail back on in the right spot, or closest to it, was the winner. The prize was a Pooh video. After the game each kid got their party favor, which were Hunny Pots (small cloth bags from the craft store labeled "HUNNY" with little felt bees glued randomly). Inside the hunny pots were pooh stickers, a plastic pooh toy, play-doh and pooh snacks. They all went back to the living room and watched The Book of Pooh and/or played with the new toys while they waited for their parents.
