I celebrated a Winnie Pooh Party for my daughter Sushma's first birthday since she loves the cuddly character. I made invitations with Winnie the Pooh carrying a cake and all the info
inside. I ordered a cake with Winnie's face on it.
For decorations, I had purple and gold balloons hanging all over the house. Since I could draw I drew out the characters, 4 of them, Winnie, Eeyore, Tigger and piglet hugging each other while Christopher, Rabbit looked at them. All these were drawn on Styrofoam, painted and cut out and this made the centerpiece on the wall. I had roo hanging down with a balloon. I had the banner Happy Birthday and I made my daughter's name and attached all the cards she received on the wall together with this deco. I bought all Winnie Pooh plates, cups, tablecloth and banner. I decorated the table with all the soft toys of these characters as well as other Winnie Pooh toys and games and story books. The place looked very colorful. For the food table, I also had Winnie Pooh holding a cake cut out stuck above the food table. I made a self-made honey-pot and filled it up with Winnie Pooh cookies. For games I had 2 different categories. For the younger ones, I had coloring contest - pictures of Winnie the Pooh and friends. For the older ones, I had a word game - to form as many words as possible from the word Winnie the Pooh. Everyone had a gift but the best got something better. I gave away all Winnie Pooh's materials, like water bottles, coloring books, pencil cases, files, stationery sets. I also had a pin the tail on eeyore which was the most hit among the children. I put on Winnie the Pooh CDs and all of them enjoyed it. Everyone had a wonderful time including the parents. Most of them were actually fascinated with the decos because the whole house was very colorful and I already have a few of them asking whether I could draw for their child's birthday as well. I gave away little jar bottles filled with yellow jelly to make it look like honey to every child. Though Sushma is young to understand all these but she has a real wonderful time.
