I wanted to share some great ideas for a Winnie the Pooh theme that I put together this past week.
My son is going to be Pooh for Halloween and it is also the theme for his first birthday party so I wanted something really special. I made a honeypot and a beehive for the decorations in the Halloween picture as well as to add to the accessories for the birthday party. Here is how: HUNNYpot You need a terra cotta pot, brown and yellow paint, a piece of cord, and a piece of cloth a little bigger than the circumference of the pot. Paint the pot brown. When dry paint the word HUNNY (AS IS) across the middle of the pot. Then paint a yellow area over the rim to make it look like honey is overflowing. Hot glue the yellow fabric over the top ( the piece should be hanging over the edges a little). Place the cord around the rim over the fabric with a simple knot and hot glue in place. this will make it appear that the cord is holding the cloth in place over the pot. There you have a fantastic Winnie the Pooh HUNNY pot. Beehive What you need: I found a terra cotta pot that was grooved with rolls and when you turned it upside down it looked like a beehive. Fake bees (you can get at any craft or fabric store) and yellow paint. Turn the pot upside down and paint yellow (don't forget the bottom). Let dry. Hot glue the fake bees on the upside down "beehive". The hole in the bottom of the pot (which is now on the top) is a perfect place to glue a bee coming out of the opening. I hope these items will help make a very memorable Halloween photo and add to the flavor of the birthday party. For the party I also plan to place fake bees around the room and put together a little scene that gives a glimpse into rabbits garden (picket fence and all along the wall). Rabbit scene : You will need a white poster board, artificial grass, plastic veggies, and scarecrow decoration. Make a cardboard picket fence along the wall with the scarecrow decoration behind it. Place artificial grass and plastic veggies on the floor. Make a sign that says rabbits garden or something to that effect. I hope you can all use these ideas or get inspired for something new! Remember to take time to do the simple things that add that personal touch! Jackie http://www.morethanpartysupplies.com
