For my daughters first birthday our theme will be Winnie the Pooh.
I bought Winnie the Pooh invitations and Winnie the pooh paper plates, napkins etc. For the decorations: on the front door I will have a sign that says "Welcome to the 100 acre Forest" and we have windows around the door so I am going to put these leaf window clings (I got from Garden Ridge on sale from last fall) to make it look like you are entering a Forrest. I am going to put fake trees as you walk in and hang fake leaves and tree branches from the ceiling. I found this really cute Winnie the Pooh mask book of all the characters and am going to put the mask on all of my daughters stuffed animals. I want to make it look as if you are walking into a forest and then when you get to the living room you will see balloons and pooh decorations. I am going to have a couple of those stuffed animals sit-in on a picnic blanket in the middle of the floor with balloons tied to there hands. I also found little recipes like Rabbits Garden(a platter with all different veggies) and I am going to put a little card that says that in front of it with a figurine of rabbit. I am going to have a petting zoo come out and also a pinata. I am going to get little paper lunch bags and roll the tops down and write hunny on the front. Instead of buying favors I will hand the bags out to let the kids fill with the candy that falls out of the pinata. I found a clay pot that looks just like Poohs hunny pot so I am going to serve honey Grahams inside of it. I just finished cake decorating classes so I can make the cake I want and the cakes for the years to come. For the older kids I got little .5o cent plastic bottles and different color sand so they could do sand art and take that home also.
