Winnie the Pooh Themed Party for 1 Year-Old The weather was perfect and we had manageable number of guests came to our party. Many of our guests couldn't make it at the very last
minutes.. and too bad they couldn't join the fun. Just look at what they have missed! Their kids will surely had so much fun like those who did make it to the party. You can always email me
personally if you want to see the photos which I already post on my personal. emailto: surya_kuzi@yahoo.com
For this party I started with the preparations about 2-3 months in advance. Since it's a themed party, Winnie the POOH that is, I had to make sure everything is according to the theme. But not the food though.. eventhough I could be really creative in coming up with new names for the food. The party was held at Nurin's grandparents' place in Cheras. It was held outdoor. I have decorated the gazebo with confetti, garland and Nurin's Pooh and Friends soft toys. It's the food and beverage section. We had POOH tablecloths as well. It's the center of attaraction to all. Not to mention the banners, helium balloon(yellow and read)and POOH giant posters/throw on the walls around the party area. And kids show-off their Pooh T-shirts. Me and hubby wore Pooh too! Nurin had her Baby Pooh dress on in hot pink. For the kids, as soon as they entered the party area, I handed over POOH and friends coloring pages for them to color. It was a contest actually. Each kid were also given a nametag so they could make friends easier and also for me to recognize them later. Oh.. Balloons and POOH's ears as well. POOH's ears were made of styrofoam shaped into ears, wrapped with yellow crape paper and glued onto plastic headbands. The kids had played Pin the Tail to Eeyore. It was funny to watch them trying to stick the tail while blindfolded and dizzy after I spin them! But the older kids managed to get it right.. bulls-eye in fact! Hey...Did anyone cheat? I did the whole painting myself. The tail was tied with a real ribbon. While playing and enjoying the dish, I had the kids songs and Pooh's songs playing throughout the party. We even had a ôtattoo cornerö where they can get a POOH tattoo on! At 5.45pm, Nurin blew her 1st candle (with Sabrina's help, TQVM) and cut her cake (with Sabrina's help, TQVM once again). The cake isà you guess it right, POOH! It reads 1 year sweet, 1 year happy, 1 year fun, 1 year cute, 1 year wonderfulö. It was a scrumptious Secret Recipe carrot cake.. with the cream cheese toppings. I've constructed the POOH's image based on a party plate and printed on a edible sugar paper. At the end of the day, each kid bring home a party pack, on top of the gifts (POOH's merchandise) they won from the games. The party pack include all POOH's muffin, stickers, keychain, Hansaplas, KitKat POOH talcum and bath toys for the babies. Parents also had some luck in the Lucky Draw we held. As for the token of appreciation, for parents, I gave them fridge magnets with Pooh Hunny Bee Cookies recipe on it.. which again I made it myself. I preprinted the recipe on a POOH's note pad (3in X 4in), stick on a cadboard and stick a magnet strip at the back. It's not that hard to find POOH stuffs here in Malaysia. By looking at the photos.. Nurin wasn't too impressed with the whole thing. Maybe she's to young to understand. She slept on her party.. And had to wake her up to cut the cakeà I just hope that she will enjoy her next Birthday Party. But she enjoy opening her presents though! Thanks to the ideas and nice images I gathered from websites. Nurin is ONE happy kid..!
