We had a Splash Bash for my son's playgroup.
I sent out invitations that read: It's O-FISH-AL!!! You're invited to a Brady and Kira Splash Bash. The water is so nicee and cool... so let's all party by the pool. Swim on over to our house on (date, time, location). There will be lots of fishy fun for everyone! Let us know if you'll be diving in! We made a banner for our front yard out of posterboard that read "Welcome to our Fishbowl". On the door we made a sign that said "Welcome all fishes" The house was decorated with cut out fishes. We had the virtual aquarium from the Finding Nemo DVD playing on our TV. We had Beach Boy music playing too. We decorated the outside picnic table with a fish tablecloth. We had plastic fish everywhere, and we put aquarium diving toys in the baby pool. For food, we served peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into the shape of fish with a cookie cutter (so easy and so cute). We also had goldfish crackers and fish cupcakes for dessert. I even found shark fruit snacks to hand out as well. We had a craft table too. I found two coloring pages online at a preschool coloring page site. On one of the pages you had to color 5 fish. You then had to cut them out and glue them in a fishbowl. It was a perfect activity for the preschool playgroup. This theme was so perfect for an end of summer playgroup. It could really be something you could run with for a birthday party as well. I know a lot of the party sites have lots of goodie bag favors with fish and beach items. I hope you have a Splash Bash soon too!!!
