I attend a private all-girls school and am 12 years old (7th grade). I decided to plan an End of Summer Party. Because my school is all-girls I wanted to invite a
few boys (who my parents new) from our brother school. My twin and older brother both attend that school, that was very helpful since they are around my age. Also, I have a neighbor (a boy)
who is my age and attends a private coed school. I invited him and two of his friends who I knew pretty well. I invited nine of my closest friends and six boys who
go to our brother school. I thought it would be awkward if there was not an even number of boys and girls, so I had nine boys and nine girls. All the parties my friends throw are always the
party to remember". My brothers had each thrown one of those "golden" parties in previous years so this was my year to shine
We have a large deck and a nice pool. To start I decorated our table (it has no umbrella) outside on our deck with multi-colored confetti. I bought multi-colored pool light disco-balls that would submerge underwater and light of the pool. Days before the party my parents got the pool cleaned and skimmed. The day of the party we took out the pool cleaner to allow more swimming space. For entertainment my parents hired a local DJ (you can look online or in the yellow pages). The DJ cost only about seventy dollars per house and the party went from 6-9 to allow night time swimming. Also we bought a dolphin pinata to hung next to the pool that way when each kid took a whack he or she would jump into the water (since the pinata was set up practically over the pool we got candies in waterproof wrappers so they wouldn't get destroyed if they fell into the water). At around eight pm we played manhunt in the woods around my house. It was slightly dark by then so it made the game much more fun. (Manhunt is a little like hide-and-seek tag you can look up the rules online). Dinner was around seven pm. For dinner we had dominoes pizza (both pepperoni and cheese) cinnamon sticks and bread sticks (for those who didn't like pizza). The beverages were a little bit more fancy. We had sodas (of course) which included: Pepsi Coke Ginger ale and Sprite. Then we had Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri's and Virgin Margaritas. They were a big hit (especially since no one could drink)! Also my dad hired a hot dog man (for one-hundred dollars) who served hot dogs in a stand like in the cities! At 8:30pm we made smores in a bonfire (check to see if they are legal in your area). It was completely dark by 8:30pm and we also had late night swimming. At nine was pickup and only a few people who lived thirty minutes away who couldn't be picked up slept over. When school comes back in September I hope everyone will still be talking about this! (My older brother hosted a very nice party with clowns and monkey's and chefs when he was in 1st grade and people are still talking about it!) My friends have already called me up and have said they can't wait until I host next years party for my thirteenth birthday! * * * I hope this helped."
