My daughter could swim all by herself long before she could walk. She thinks she was once a mermaid. Swim parties are a must for her. I rented the pool at a local Quality Inn and decorated the
tables with batik fish fabric. Brought along a boom box with appropriate "beach music" and Raffi beluga songs and the like.
For favors we bought most of the stuff at All A Dollar which included the swim noodles and water toys. For the prize bags I got some towels on sale in crazy colors along with plastic table cloths and cut them back to back to make really cute draw string bags. The invitations were silly with a picture of my daughter making a goofy face with old granny glasses on. The inside had a tiny towel cut from the gift bag scraps and it read: Hope to see you there! Don't forget your little towel! Bubbles, of course in every bag. I served nachos with warm cheese in a crock pot and fruit. Heavy food is not fun when you're swimming. We had cake and they were right back in the pool. I liked the idea of an indoor pool even though it was warm outside because I didn't have to worry about sunburn and it sort of gave everyone the feeling that they were on vacation. The workers at Quality Inn could not have been nicer. They even brought down tables, ice, and extra chairs. All for 40$ ! All total, I spent about $130.
