Twins Beach Party Bash-  My twins were turning 1 last July and we had a pool set-up in the backyard for the summer which took up too much space so I used it to my advantage, since it ended up being very hot that day. My invitations were made of cards and enevelopes that i got at Michaels, in a sand color. I took blue card stock and placed it behind my boys picture of them and adhered it onto front of the invitation. In the picture they were dressed in short overalls and the two of them holding a beach ball together. I used this picture (8x10) on the present table as well. On the inside I wrote -A double celebration. what could be more fun?We hope you'll come and join us for lots of fun in the sun, So grab your swimsuit and towel and celebrate as Nicholas and Joshua turn one! followed with party details.   I took old baby food jars (labels removed) & filled them with beach sand and tiny shells I bought at craft store, i placed tea light candles in each jar and tied a blue ribbon around the neck of each har with a note saying thank you for attending our 1st birthday!!! Each person took one home. I also bought small sand pails that came with a little rake and shovel, I filled each of them with bubbles, fishy quirt toys and star fish (oriental trading)and shark fruit snacks.  I also used sea shells and star fish as table decorations & I used a shallow flower vase filled with sand, tea light candles, sea shells and starfish as centerpieces on the tables.  I served croissant deli sandwiches (costco) potato salad, green salad, pasta salad & individual baggies of chips (variety pak), I made edible ocean cups, I took clear plastic cups put 1/4 inch of crushed nilla wafers at the bottom then filled them with blue jello once set I placed shark/fish gummy fruit snacks inside each cup and topped each cup with some cool whip to look like ocean fiz which hid the holes made by placing the fish in the jello. The kids enjoyed those alot!!! I put potato & pasta salad in sand pails & used the shovel as a serving spoon, I also used a smaller pail to hold plastic utensils. Ina large sandpail I put my fruit kebobs (chopped fruit on a kebob stick)drinks were in a big red plastic tub (smart&final) water, capri-sun and soda pop.I used gingham table cloths that I found at the dollar store in all different colors. I filled a small baby pool with water and ruber duckies and I got small beach balls from oriental trading that I blew up & tossed all over the yard. We also set up our beach umbrella and some kiddy beach chairs to make extra shade. We placed beachchairs all over the yard as well. we also set up a kiddy pool with sand in it with sand toys under a tree for shade. and we had a water pinata (take a plastic clear trash bag fill with water tie opening in a knot and hang from a tree, let the kids have at it to cool them down !!!! ) the kids loved it so much they did it 5 times in a row, with the daddies being brave enough to lay under it to cool off!!!!  the kids loved that !!!  color theme was red, yellow, blue and white, and my aunt is a caterer, so she made us a fabulous cake which was stacking cups stacked upside down biggest on the bottom, since it was for my twins she made them each a personal size smash cake to match the large cake (one for my dad too as his birthday is the same day)I would be glad to share pictures.  I had a food table, present table and goody bag table as well as the dining table.  Ballons in the clors scheme were placed behind my boys setas for great birthday pictures!!!
