This year I am celebrating my 2 year olds birthday party with a pool party and cook out.  For the birthday party invitations  I will take a picture of her sitting by the pool all dressed in her swimsuit, hat and sunglasses. The front of the invitation will have her picture and it will read "two cool for the pool". The inside will give all the needed information and remind guests to bring their swimsuits, towels and sunscreen. I have purchased sunglasses, beach balls, sidewalk chalk, water squirters and pool themed stickers which I will give away as party favors. Since all the kids will be under the age of 3 and most of the guest list will include adults most of our fun will be had swimming in the pool.  The menu is grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, pasta salad, potatoe salad, fruit salad and a veggie tray.  I am making a cake in a flat cake pan that I will decorate with colored frosting to resemble our swimming pool.  I will be using blue sour licorice to outline the shape of the pool. Inside of the pool I will put little dolls to look like their swimming and gumballs for beach balls. The edges will be green coconut grass.  There will be drink umbrellas and material cut for beach towels sitting on the grass. I am also making cupcakes and decorating the tops of them with different colored frosting seperated by cut red licorice to look like beach balls. I am decorating the picnic area with crepe paper and lots of bright colored balloons.
