Splish Splash!!  It's a swimming party Bash!!!     My 7 year old boy/girl twins had a swimming party at our house. I found some inexpensive flip flop invitations and glued jewels on them (I bought at a craft store).......they looked very cool!  I also put magnets on the back of the invitation so they would be ready to stick on our friends refrigerators.  The invitations said "flip flop on over".  I hung inexpensive multi colored paper lanterns in our trees and had several blow up palm trees.  I made sandwiches in the shapes of numerous sea creatures with the help of cookie cutters.  Hint: when you use cookie cutters on bread, it is best to use frozen bread.  We also had octopus shaped hotdogs. First boil the hotdogs. Then,you cut a hotdog in half, and slice the cut end of the hotdog criscross(three cuts).  You then pan fry the hot dog with the crisscross side down on the pan. This makes the criss cross part flip up like tenacles. I purchased swimming pool noodles for all of the children and gave them their own upon arrival.  I filled a laundry basket with water balloons (they all loved this)!  We played tug of war across the pool. A pinata was hung over the edge of the pool. The kids took turn hitting the pinata and juming in.  I filled it with squirt toys and different water toys.  I bought two dozen mini blow up fish and had them floating in the pool.  For the kids that did not want to swim, I had hollow dolphin keychains that they filled with multi colored pixi stix. The cake was a giant swimming pool with a picture of a boy and girl in swim suits.  We put sparklers on the cake. I filled flip flop cello bags with fish lollipops, fish that have goo eyes (my kids insisted) and flip flop pencils, pads and erasers. We cranked the Beach Boys CD and a fun Radio Disney CD. Everyone had a blast!!
